Hyde’s focus in serving as Spartanburg City Councilman has focused on economic development, attracting employers that can grow and diversify the city’s professional workforce. He also seeks to continue the improvements downtown as well as better unifying Spartanburg’s various neighborhoods.
During 2018, Hyde will begin serving as president of the (Downtown) Rotary Club of Spartanburg, which meets at the Piedmont Club. He will be one of the youngest presidents in the history of the 101-year-old club – the second Rotary Club organized in South Carolina.
